“It all started when I was 16 and my best friend Tomas aka DJ Vorel, who was at the time listening to psytrance and other wicked electronic music, had a great tune called Super Sharp Shooter by Ganja Kru. On a school ski-course, we were listening to that tune like gazillion times and we loved it; Needles to say, we were being laughed at by our classmates, who used to enjoy Nirvana, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and other rock-based bands. A few years after that, when I was regularly visiting drum’n'bass parties in Prague clubs and listening to sets linked on nyx.cz, we were hanging out and an idea sparked in our heads - how about purchasing turntables, mixer and vinyls and actually contribute to the czech drum’n'bass scene. Now, after a year and something of active spinning on parties, I realize, that my personal life took a different direction. During that period, a lot of things happened and plenty of new facts occured. For instance:
1) There’s huge amount of great people on the other side of the stage.
2) It’s also not so crowded there and when you talk to pals, they can actually hear you.
3) For me, spinning is more fun than just dancing.
4) One vinyl is not so expensive, 20 pieces per month - whole another story.
5) Some clubs are not prepared for 167cm tall DJs :]As my final statement, I’d like to say, that dnb music led me to a whole bunch of new people and friends, who I like to spend time with.”
